Dieci ritratti che abbondano di ossimori, insieme a fiori e frutti della terra, ossessioni della società e futili manufatti, simboli millenari e citazioni esasperate.

Composizioni fotografiche dal sapore pittorico e un inequivocabile memento mori, ispirato tanto alla natura morta fiamminga di agrumi sbucciati e alle Vanitas seicentesche di teschi, quanto dalla genesi del silicone e ‘nature’ caotiche, appassite, tenute su con il filo, asfissiate dalla pellicola, corrotte dalla vanità umana inesorabilmente transitoria.

Soldi e sigarette, cibo da fast food e bancone del supermercato, sex toys e pistole giocattolo, pillole, maschere, telefoni cellulari, manichini, accessori sanitari e un ‘the lovers’ vietato ai minori, tra fiori, frutta e verdura, protesi al silicone, barbie con una testa a pomo e ..

La natura ride della nostra vanagloria e l’intera opera guarda ai fiori come ‘la risata della Terra contro la l’arroganza degli esseri umani’ che credono di poter controllare l’universo’, prendendo in prestito il titolo da “Hamatreya” di Ralph Waldo Emerson…

Per chi a voglia di vedere le opere in grande formato da vicino, l’intera serie, esposta per la prima volta in Europa nel febbraio del 2011 al Kestner Gesellschaft di Hannover, è visibile quasi in contemporanea, nella chiesa protestante Reformierte Dorfkirche di St.Moritz, nelle sedi della galleria Robilant + Voena di Milano e Londra e presso il Fred Torres Collaborations di New York:
