E poi ancora, ribelli che combattono contro il leader libico Muammar Gaddafi (Primo premio Spot News Singles, Yuri Kozyrev, Russia, Noor Images per Time), folla in protesta contro presidente egiziano Mubarak (Primo premio General News Singles, Alex Majoli, Italia, Magnum Photos per Newsweek), gli arresti di Harlem durante una protesta contro la polizia (Secondo premio People in the News Singles, Tomasz Lazar, Polonia), una nave approdata nell’oceano di macerie lasciato dallo tsunami giapponese (Secondo premio General News Stories, Paolo Pellegrin, Italia, Magnum Photos per Zeit Magazin)…

Gli obiettivi del World Press Photo 2012 continuano ad inquadrare le mille sfumature della vita, della natura umana e della storie raccontate dalle immagini, da una carezza al rinoceronte (Primo premio Nature Stories, Brent Stirton, South Africa, Reportage di Getty Images per National Geographic magazine) alle vesti abbandonate sulle sponde delle gelide acque norvegesi che tradiscono una fuga per evitare i proiettili esplosi da Anders Behring Breivik (Secondo premio Spot News Stories, Niclas Hammarström, Svezia, per Aftonbladet). Frammenti speculari di mondo che dopo l'Oude Kerk di Amsterdam, faranno tappa al Museo di Roma in Trastevere (dal 28 aprile al 20 maggio) e alla Galleria Carla Sozzani di Milano (dal 5 maggio al 3 giugno 2012), toccando 45 paesi e 105 città diverse in tutto il mondo.
